iLearningGlobal Faculty member Tony Alessandra discusses his concept of "Apostle Marketing". Simply put, Tony suggests that there are customers, satisfied customers, raving fans and then there are apostles. Here are my notes from the video training, on iLearningGlobal:
- Apostles are something like "mavens" but even better. They love your service offering so much that they wouldn't let anyone think of using someone else.
- You probably have a couple of "apostles" in your past-client database right now. You treat them differently from the past customers. You nurture your relationship in a MUCH different way and they appreciate it.
- You have the potential to convert past customers into apostles; simply replicate the actions you take with your apostles to a targeted group of "raving fans".
- Twelve apostles is a satisfactory number to build a great database. (Does that number sound familiar?)
- Try to double the number of apostles you have each year. If you have 2-3 in your database now, you should reach your goal of twelve apostles within 3 years.
I liked this training video a LOT. Tony describes himself as a "New York Italian" so I completely get the whole boisterous, enthusiastic style of delivery. As a kid who grew up in Philly, it's nice to see that I'm not the only loud, East Coast guy here in San Diego.
PS: Tony's no slouch; he's actually "Dr. Tony". He holds a PhD and MBA in Marketing as well as an undergraduate degree from the Villanova of the Midwest (Notre Dame).
