Memorial Day is a time for remembering those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the Republic. I ask you to remember Lt. Col. John C. Spahr, who died over Iraq in May 2005. "Dukes" was a high school friend and a shining example of why America is an exceptional nation. After graduating the University of Delaware, he entered Officer Candidate School, was commissioned in the USMC, and earned his flight wings in Pensacola. John was stationed at Miramar MCAS.
